معدن "داليرانيتي" معدن شفاف جدا وفيه حمرة
اكتشفت عالمة المعادن فرحناز داليران، الباحثة في معهد كارلزروهه للتكنولوجيا، معدنا جديدا في إيران، وقد اعترف العلماء بالمعدن الجديد وأطلقوا عليه اسم "داليرانيتي" تقديرا لمكتشفته.
عثرت الباحثة الإيرانية في معهد كارلزروهه للتكنولوجيا، فرحناز داليران، على معدن أحمر برتقالي براق حين كانت في مهمة بحث ٍ في منطقة "تكاب" الإيرانية قبل ثماني سنوات. وقد لاحظت داليران طراوة المعدن حين لمسته. وهذا ما أكدته أبحاث المختبر، إذ تبين أن المعدن الجديد يتكون من ألياف أرق بست مرات من شعر الإنسان.
واعترف العلماء بالمعدن وأطلقوا عليه اسم "داليرانيتي" تقديرا لمكتشفته وصنفوه في عائلة أملاح السولفات الحمضية، وبهذا فهو يحمل صفات مهمة للصناعة. فهذه المعادن تمتاز بأنها رديئة التوصيل، لذا تسمى بأشباه الموصلات، وتدخل في تصنيع ألواح الطاقة الشمسية و"الفولتايك". وقالت فرحناز داليران إن المعدن الجديد "داليرانيتي" مهم للأغراض الصناعية لأنه يمكن تحويله إلى قطع كريستال كبيرة".
جدير بالذكر أن هذا المعدن لم يكتشف في الطبيعة حتى الآن سوى في شمال غرب إيران. وقد سجلت المفوضية الدولية للمعادن داليرانيتي في سجلاتها وحصل على الرقم 2007-010. أما صيغته البنيوية فهي PbHgAs2S6. وقد تم نشر بحث عن هذا المعدن الجديد في العدد 73 /5 من مجلة المعادن على الصفحات 871 وحتى 881.

تقرير: قنديل البحر يخرب مواقع سياحية في عدة مناطق بالعالم
واشنطن (رويترز) - أفاد باحثون أمريكيون يوم الجمعة أن أسرابا ضخمة من قناديل البحر اللادغة وحيوانات هلامية مشابهة تخرب الشواطىء في هاواي وخليج المكسيك والبحر المتوسط واستراليا وأماكن أخرى.
ويقول التقرير ان 150 مليون شخص معرضون لقنديل البحر على الصعيد العالمي كل عام وأن نصف مليون شخص لدغوا من القناديل في خليج تشيسابيك قبالة ساحل الولايات المطل على المحيط الاطلسي وحده.
