قال لورنزو سيستينو مدير شركة فيات المنتجة للسيارات إن شركته تنوي تزويد سيارة فيات 500 الصغيرة التي تنتجها بمحرك جديد يجعلها في مقدمة السيارات الصديقة للبيئة.
وقال سيستينو إن المحرك الجديد ذا الاسطوانتين (والذي تطلق عليه الشركة اسم Twin Air) ستزود به 500 سيارة ابتداء من شهر سبتمبر/ايلول المقبل.
وقال مدير فيات: "لقد احتاج قطاع صناعة السيارات الى 15 عام لخفض انبعاثات ثاني اكسيد الكربون بمعدل 20 في المئة، ولكن بفضل محرك (Twin Air) الجديد تمكنت فيات من خفض هذه الانبعاثات 30 بالمئة مرة واحدة."
ومضى للقول إنه بفضل التقدم الكنولوجي، فإن المحرك الجديد يضاهي بقوته وادائه المحركات ذات الاسطوانات الاربع.
وقال: "إن محرك (Twin Air) خطوة متقدمة في مجال تكنولوجيا البيئة ويعتبر طفرة كبرى في جهود حماية البيئة."

وأوضح ان الحكومة تبحث البيانات والدراسات الحقلية على مدى ‏30‏ عاما باستخدام الحلول الهندسية لمواجهة كافة الاحتمالات وأعمال الحماية اللازمة التي يتوقف القرار بشأنها وفقا لحجم الاستثمارات المطلوبة والموارد المتاحة‏.‏
